The co-efficient of performance or COP is a ratio of useful heating or cooling provided to work required. Higher COP's equate to lower operating costs. You can calculate the coefficient of performance by dividing how much energy a system produces by the amount of energy you input into the system: kW output / kW input = COP

The EcoPlus Hot Water Heat Pump System measures the total electrical energy consumed when calculating COP, not simply the compressor electrical energy, so it is easy to know exactly what the cost of electrical energy is relative to hot water has been used.
